Target Denim

I recently teamed up with Target to give their new and improved denim a test run for 14 days. And let me tell you, wearing denim for 14 days straight was heavenly. Not only was I on time to work every single day (because half of my outfit was already picked out) but I was comfortable and confident. Plus finding new ways to style jeans each day was actually pretty fun.

When it comes to jeans, it's safe to say we have quite the love/hate relationship. Jeans are the quintessential wardrobe staple, so when you don't have a trusty pair in your closet that you feel confident throwing on at anytime, it can be frustrating. I had to kiss my jeans goodbye when I reached my fifth month of pregnancy and I didn't even get them back out until about 4 months postpartum. Fast forward 10 months later and I still don't love the way they fit me. I realize my body has changed after having a baby and I couldn't be prouder of it, but it's definitely time to hunt down NEW jeans.

I received three different pairs of denim from Target for my 14 day trial: a light high-rise flare, a mid-rise skinny and a dark high-rise jegging. I'm not kidding when I say this: all three pairs fit me like a glove. I had one of those "wait a minute.. this can't be right.. can it?" moments as I tried each of them on. They all fit differently of course, but what I can say about all three pairs is that they are the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn and I love that they each contain stretch around the waistband (which makes muffin tops nonexistent)!

Two of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to jeans are:
 1. The legs of the jeans stretching out and becoming baggy and frumpy.
2. Waistbands that are too tight are stretch out to become way too loose.

So you can imagine my surprise when, after 14 days of wear, all 3 pairs of denim did not stretch out in the legs OR waistband. It's safe to say my expectations were knocked out of the park.

As my 14-day trial came to a close, I noticed two clear front runners.

1. The High-Rise Jegging

Right on trend and incredibly flattering, the High-Rise Jegging took me by surprise. With my body type, I didn't think the high-rise look was something I could rock, but I decided to give them a shot. And I'm so glad I did.

I think what initially got me was how the jeans felt when I put them on - they were so soft and so ridiculously comfortable. The slimming effect of the dark wash was another plus, along with the length of the jeans which hit right at the ankle - just where I like them. For the first time I felt great in high-rise pants! Talk about an ego boost. Nothing makes me happier than feeling confident in my own clothes - especially a good pair of jeans.

2. The Mid-Rise Skinny

I was immediately drawn to the Mid-Rise Skinny jeans because of the wash. (I'm very particular about the color of my jeans - as silly as that may sound.) And then when I saw that they were also mid-rise AND skinny jeans, I knew I had hit the jackpot. Keep in mind, these were my thoughts before I had even tried the jeans on. Once they were on, I was head over heels in love. Not only were all of the aesthetics right, but they were honestly some of the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn.

The fabric is incredibly soft but not too soft that the legs of the jeans stretch out and end up making you look frumpy. Which is HUGE in my book. I've wasted so much money on super expensive jeans that do that and it's so frustrating! How refreshing is it to know that you can find incredibly affordable jeans that maintain a high comfort level while still hugging you in all the right places by the end of the day?

The other thing I love about these jeans is how great they look cuffed. Some jeans just don't have that ability due to the nature of the fabric or the cut. But not these - these are perfect. If I had to choose a pair of jeans to wear everyday for the rest of my life, these would be them.

*As a note, I did size down one size in these. So you may want to do the same.
