Second Chances

I'll be honest. I have never been a fan of rompers. When I worked at cute little boutique in college, I would literally try on everything we got in, and that unfortunately included rompers. No matter how many times I tried them on, they were never ever flattering on me. So I kind of swore them off. And since then I just told myself they just weren't for my body type. No hard feelings.

So you can obviously imagine my own surprise when I decided the order the romper above. I'll walk you through my thought process. It's Friday afternoon and I'm doing my usual sweep through ShopRiffRaff.com and it's right then that I see new wonderful palm prints from Show Me Your Mumu. And I am a sucker for a good palm print. Anyway, a few of my Mumu go-to's (like the shook tunic and the peta tunic) were already sold out but I was hell-bent on owning something in this print, so I kept scrolling. Ten minutes later I was down to a button-up dress (here) or this romper. Clearly I went with the romper, but I ultimately decided to do so because of the way it's designed. It looked different than most rompers I had seen or tried of before. And when I tried it on for the first time, I was so happy with my admittedly random decision. The ruffles and flares around the legs are extremely flattering and comfortable. The top is billowy so you don't feel like your entire body is on display. And the overall drape is fantastic. It's truly unlike any other romper I've seen.

So it goes to show that just because you think something won't work for you, you shouldn't give up hope. It really is all about finding a good designer who knows how to design clothing for a woman's body. And as always, kudos to Show Me Your Mumu for kicking ass time and time again.
