All Black Everything

The greater part of 2012 has been spent in a rainbow, and I'm not complaining. Everyone knows how obsessed with color I am. I didn't own a lick of black clothing or accessories until my senior year of high school. My black clothing repertoire is still not the greatest, but that won't be the case very much longer.

So. I knew this was coming. I was in full research mode back in February during the fall/winter Fashion Week presentations. I was just more excited for warm weather and extravagant bright colors. But, this morning when my husband and I stepped outside, I instantly felt fall. The sun had just come up, there was a chill in the air, we could hear a train in the distance and I knew Sunday would be filled with pre-season football. This happens every year. As soon as I feel the hint of fall, I get immensely excited. A little too excited. There is nothing I love more than fall fashion. Seriously. So expect to get a hell of a lot of posts about fall fashion in the next several months.

If you didn't already know where I was going with this..
The first thing on your "To Buy" list for Fall, (am I the only one that makes one of these?) should be BLACK. Black. Black. Black. All Black Everything.

This is what I'll be wearing.

Spark Stretch-Leather Leggings by JOSEPH
Super Skinny Leather Jeans by J Brand
The Legging Leatherette Jeans by AG Adriano Goldschmied
Skinny Stretch Leather Pants by Helmut Lang
The High Shine Leather-Like Skinny Jeans by 7 For All Mankind

Leather pants may be an instant turn-off for some, especially since it's exceptionally hot in some parts of the country right now, but there are so many versions of leather pants out there. A lot of brands have perfected the lightweight leather pant, and you can find some brands that have simply applied treatments to the outside of pants to mimic the leather effect. Trust me, whether you shell out a pretty penny for real leather pants, or find a bargain faux leather pair (like I did) - you'll want these in your closet this fall/winter.

Céline Trapeze
Tory Burch Robinson Mini Square Tote

Tory Burch 797 Large Satchel

Prada Saffiano Lux Two-Way Zip Satchel

I have never owned a black bag. Ever. So I'm being extremely picky when it comes to selecting my future partner in crime. I don't think I need to explain this one very much, except for saying that a nice structured black tote can last a lifetime. It's very understated, yet instantly chic. And recently I have fallen in love with Céline's entire line of leather goods. I think you might too. Check it out here.

Prada 'Baroque' Round Sunglasses

Prada Cat's Eye Sunglasses

No surprises here. If you don't already own an over-sized pair of black shades, then what is wrong with you? Just kidding. I actually don't own a pair... yet. I've always been the girl that chooses Mother of Pearl, maroon, purple, or tortoise shades - never black. I don't know why. But not anymore! I have fallen in love with Prada's Fall 2012 line, and I'm also digging the Elizabeth & James line too.

Sunburst Button Earring by House of Harlow 1960
Chevron Three Stack Bangle by House of Harlow 1960
Saffiano Double Wrap Logo Stud Bracelet by Tory Burch
Cole Enamel Stud Earring by Tory Burch

ASOS Skull and Flower Drop Earring
Marc by Marc Jacobs Black Bracelet Watch
Black Statement Necklace by ILY COUTURE

Black accessories can add so much more to an ensemble, it's an immediate attention grabber. Especially when it's paired with gold metal. One thing I think every girl needs is a black watch. Or maybe I just think that because I'm obsessed with watches. But anytime I wear something black, I throw on my black watch and I immediately have people asking me about it. Another fun accessory - the statement necklace. Ily Couture does an incredible job creating these, and she even offers them in all colors of the rainbow.

I know what you're thinking, only one polish is black. This is true. But I think these 3 other polishes from Essie would go swimmingly with your All Black Everything ensembles. I currently have bobbing for baubles on my nails - but look forward to painting on stylenomics! Essie just continues to amaze me.

Vegan Leather Peplum Top by Tinley Road
Embellished silk-chiffon Top by Jason Wu
Brett Vintage Swallow Silk Blouse by Equipment

Another no-brainer. But check out that vegan leather peplum top. It's amazing. And it's also something you fashionistas might want in your closet this fall/winter to earn some street cred. I've also become a big fan of black silk tops because they are just so effortlessly chic. Pair them with some gold studded earrings or pearls and you instantly embody old Hollywood glamour.

Fringed High Heel Boot by ZARA
Uma Ankle Boot by Sam Edelman

I mean, how cute are both of these? Come to Mama! Amazing price points for each - and we're going to be seeing a big fringe and cowboy boot trend, if you haven't noticed already. Every year I purchase big boots that come up to my knee, this year I'm really going to focus on booties. I wear the hell out of my leopard Sam Edelman booties, so I figure, it might be worth it to splurge on the shorties this fall.

Monolo Blahnik BB Suede Pump
Miu Miu Platform Pump
Prada Bow Ankle Strap Sandal

These 3 black pumps are on my to-die-for list. Each one embodies a different mood. Classic. Funky. Girly. All of which explain my style. And breathe easy - you don't have to throw your wallet off the deep end, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman and BCBG also have some fantastic black pumps in a variance of materials.

P.S. I'm breaking up with black patent and going on dates with black suede.

Who's ready to get back to black?
